Seniors Can Make A Difference!: Generous Seniors Leading Efforts for the Homeless in Detroit

The effort to help furnish apartments for homeless Detriot veterans is being headed up by proactive seniors. Bea Sacks, 90, and Muriel Sherbow, 85, set out on a mission after discovering that while homeless veterans are able to move into long-term housing with government subsidies, no furnishings were included. The pair then set about recruiting help from their community getting donations of furniture as well as volunteers to move it.
